The Natural History of Florida – Christopher A. Nichol Sr., Assistant Professor, St. Petersburg College Seminole, FL

Are you curious to learn more about how Florida formed geologically, its fossil record and early human history? Come join us to learn more about it. Discover how all of this impacts our lives today. You will come to realize what a special place Florida truly is.

The Friends of Boyd Hill Nature Preserve presents the Natural History Speaker Series. This program offers fascinating presentations on the natural and cultural history of Florida by individuals who are authorities in their fields. It is cosponsored by the City of St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation Department on the second Tuesday of each month (September – March) at 7:00 p.m. Please note the April program will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m.

Beer & Bacon!

The St. Petersburg Beer and Bacon Festival is January 19th! You don’t want to miss out! General Admission is just $10! Children under 10 years of age are free admission (food available for purchase). You can get your tickets through this link. Be sure to check out the local breweries that will be attending this event! Sonny’s BBQ, The Bacon Boss, and many other food chains will be there as well! Gasparilla!

Gasparilla is on January 26th, 2019! Be sure to check it out in Tampa! Times and info are below:

Time:2:00 p.m. – approx. 5:30 p.m.
Route:The parade begins at Bay to Bay Boulevard and Bayshore Boulevard. It continues along Bayshore Boulevard to Brorein Street, turns east on Brorein Street, then north on Ashley Drive. The parade ends at Cass Street & Ashley Drive.
Viewing:Purchasing reserved bleacher seats is the best way to secure a great viewing spot for this unique parade.  There are many locations open to the public along Bayshore Boulevard and in downtown Tampa for viewing the parade.
AdmissionReserved seating is available. Reserved tickets are required for adults and children over the age of two. Children two and under, without a ticket, must remain in an adult’s lap.  Shipping and handling fees apply. See bleacher seating locations on the Event Map.

This Sunday, December 2nd, we will have a mini market inside our club house starting at 5:30 PM! Be sure to come by and check out all of the cool vendors!

We will be hosting a Pot Luck on December 12th at 6:30 PM! Be sure to RSVP to let us know what dish you plan on bringing!

Don’t forget about our angels! The Angel Tree is located in our office. Be sure to swing by and adopt an angel to shop for. All angels must be turned in by 12/12/2018 at 6 PM.

Toys for tots is located in our clubhouse and they will be picking up on 12/16/2018.
