The Friends of Boyd Hill Nature Preserve presents the Natural History Speaker Series. This program offers fascinating presentations on the natural and cultural history of Florida by individuals who are authorities in their fields. It is cosponsored by the City of St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation Department on the second Tuesday of each month (September – March) at 7:00 p.m. Please note the April program will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m.

Every year, hundreds of walkers gather in celebration of their own pets to help raise instrumental funds to support the thousands of pets who find refuge at the SPCA Tampa Bay, while they await their new furever homes.

-Toiletries i.e. toilet paper,tooth brushes, toothpaste
-Gift cards: Gas and grocery
If you cannot donate items, please consider donating any generous amount to the American Red Cross foundation. You can bring us a check made out to them and we will deliver it for you, or you can donate on their web page electronically. All donations and checks will be hand delivered next week!

Kick off Labor Day weekend at the Paul’s Landing End of Summer Party, where they be screening 1959 hit “Some Like It Hot” and
celebrating the release of the new Paul’s Landing Spirits – Beach Drive White Rum, Founder’s Vodka and Tropical Gin. These spirits were developed in partnership with the Old St. Pete Distillery.
The end of summer party will feature two refreshing signature cocktails – the “Citrus Needy” and the “Cucumber Cooler” – as well as
a special menu that incorporates the ‘spirits’ and flavors of summer and Paul’s Landing.
The party is sponsored by Old St. Pete Distillery and there is no cost to enter. Food and drink tickets can be purchased at the door.

James Weldon Johnson Community Library Holds Summer Bee Series:
Wednesdays July 11th, 18th and 25th at 5:30 p.m.
The James Weldon Johnson Community Library will host a Summer Bee Series on July 11, July 18 and July 25 to test elementary students’ knowledge of spelling, geography and math. Children entering grades 1 – 6 will compete for awards and gift cards, and first place winners in each age group will receive a trophy.
